TNS secures Eurobarometer contract
TNS, the global market insight and information group, has announced that it has successfully - and for the second time - won its frame-work contract with the European Commission and European Parliament to produce its Standard Eurobarometer studies. This agreement will be one of the largest market research contracts ever commissioned and is valued at 65 million euro over four years. TNS won the contract through a competitive pitch against IPSOS, Gallup and Synovate, only four months after it was also awarded the Eurobarometer Qualitative Studies worth 15 million euros over four years. Turnover of Estonian Media Advertising Market in QI 2010 was 218 million EEK

Based on TNS advertising expenditure monitor AdEx the net turnover of media advertising market was 218 million EEK in the first quarter of 2010. Compared to the same period last year when the total turnover was 269 million EEK, the market dropped by 19%.
Estonian media advertising market dropped by 33%

Turnover of Estonian media advertising market in 2009 was up to 1,109 billion EEK. While in the first three quarters the market continued to decline, going from -34% down to -40%, then the fourth quarter showed some stabilization at -33% (IV quarter turnover in 2008 was 452,5 million and took a fall down to 304,8 million in IV quarter of 2009). Average decline in the yearly turnover was -36%.
Last year can be characterized as a year of increasing political activity and stable political preferences

Elections in 2009 showed us, that people have become politically more active in Estonia. At the same time political activity in Europe is falling and also in previous years in Estonia it has been decreasing.
Participation in elections dropped until 2005 while last three elections in Estonia have shown a growing trend.
